Recording Studio Design 

The needs of each client are considered with a series of initial meetings, after which an iterative design process takes place where we hone the details of the build based on the project’s acoustical, functional, and budgetary needs. Construction drawings are produced for the project team’s approval before moving forward with construction.

  • We work with engineers in municipalities across the country to ensure the demanding electrical, HVAC, and code requirements of a modern recording studio are met, and routinely collaborate with architects to establish a cohesive look and feel to larger facilities.

Construction & Project Management

A successful studio build hinges on the management of subcontractors and the careful application of acoustical construction details. Sondhus offers construction and project management for the projects we design to ensure your new space is as high performing as possible. After completion, we ensure the spaces perform within our expected range of metrics.

  • Site visits are conducted throughout the build process to ensure important construction details are adhered to for proper acoustical performance. Towards the end of the build, we use measurement equipment to ensure control rooms and live rooms perform within our designed parameters.

The look, feel, and sound of your creative space should be inspiring and reflect the work you create. We specialize in custom millwork and furniture solutions for studios of all sizes and believe that regardless of scale, a personalized workspace is more comfortable and efficient.

  • Our shop is setup to fabricate custom pieces to fit unique equipment. By utilizing the latest in CNC fabrication machinery, we are able to realize our designs for large scale acoustical installation as well as one-off pieces for individuals.
